What anti virus protection?

Anti virus protection is a necessity these days, yet it constantly amazes me how many people don’t pay attention to their anti virus software.

Is your anti virus software running? Is it up to date?

“Um… Well, uh…”

Ensuring that your anti virus protection is working is similar to locking your Ferrari on the street in downtown. Would you, or wouldn’t you?

Now, before you start with “I’m not worried, I have nothing to hide!” you should know that people will use your computer for sending out spam, attacking computers and other fun things - and not always just steal your data.

But in case you think that you data means nothing, you’ll want to read this article on the Washington Post where the researcher, Brian Krebs, found information on a server that contained the names, security numbers, health information, etc. of over 3,000 people in the U.S. alone.

He also blogged how his reasearch was done, which makes for a more interesting read for me… (It’s not technical.)
