A dual Xeon Microsoft Windows Server 2003 - for a file server?
A dual Xeon Microsoft Windows Server 2003 for a file server makes about as much sense as buying a fully decked out Hummer, to use it to drive to the market two blocks down the street, and never anything more.
There is absolutely no bean return for any small business to use a dual Xeon Microsoft Windows Server 2003 simply for a file server.
In the above scenario,
a) Dual Xeon processors are a waste of your money.
b) The Microsoft Windows Server 2003 operating system is a waste of your money.
A computer that is simply going to be a file server needs a stable operating system, a fast network card and a very fast hard drive system. That’s it.
Get a computer that will do the job YOU want it to do, not one that the salesman wants to sell you…
