Microsoft Small Business Server = $$$ (lost)

Microsoft Small Business Server is a software that allows a computer to share files with other computers in the office, run a database server, share a fax line and run an email system all in one box.

From the sound of it Microsoft Small Business Server could appear to be a good deal for small companies, and we are in fact seeing more small businesses who have purchased Microsoft Small Business Server from Dell.

However, some of these businesses are 5 users or less, and in the case, Microsoft Small Business Server is a financial drain to that company. Why?

The email system that Microsoft Small Business Server uses, Microsoft Exchange Server, is EXPENSIVE to maintain. To the tune of $150.00 per hour and up in some cases.

For the cost of maintianing your Microsoft Small Business Server email system for TWO hours, you can have virus-filtering, spam-filtering on a email system for 40 users for year with ZERO maintenance costs.

It’s cute, it’s flashy and it’s EXPENSIVE.

Where do you want YOUR money to go today?
