Norton Firewall & Anti-virus

Norton Firewall & Anti-virus (otherwise know as Norton Internet Security) is a bit of a sinking ship these days.

We just had another typical experience with Norton:

A client gave us his computer. He was havnig troubles with it. I noticed it had an updated version of Symantec Norton Internet Security on it after I did my usual, which is to remove the drive, attach it to another computer and run a virus scan using another anti-virus product.

That anti-virus product found and handled 447 virus, trojan and adware items.

In our experience, this is TYPICAL, and has been for the last 2 years or more.

An open note to Symantec:

You need to get your head out of your proverbial tail-feathers and get this product in shape! I know you have the research guys to pull it off - what’s up with the rest of your crew!?

I have recently down loaded internet explorer vesion 7.The problems I have epierienced is horrific. I contacted Microsoft and together solved the problem which was Norton security blocking access to the internet I have removed Norton from my computer and everything is fine. After several attempts to contact Norton I have decided to call it a day with Norton they seem to be a very sub-standard company
