Thunderbird and SBC

We had a client today running the Thunderbird email client v1.5.0.5 that recieved a message when trying to send attachments and forwarding emails of “The mail server responded: 4.3.2″.

It came about that the SMTP server needed to be changed to:
smtpauth.sbcglobal.net

And you have to enter the username and password in to the “Security and Authentication” section of Thunderbird’s SMTP settings, though do NOT use any security settings.

Thunderbird was back to it’s normal happy self.
