Want to sell a computer, Dell?

Resellers wanting to sell a computer by Dell, or a Dell laptop computer are getting a new Reseller Agreement - and getting shafted by it.

Resellers can no longer sell Dell computers to

“…distributors, third party sales agents, remarket or through retail storefronts or auction-type web sites.”

And

“You may resell Products to end-users approved by Dell, in Dell’s sole discretion…”

But wait! Not only is Dell reining in who you can sell to, they are also mandating that if they don’t like the way you used their name, you have to change it - at your expense.

“You agree to correct, at your own expense, any material or activity that Dell decides is inaccurate, objectionable, or misleading…”

“What First Amendment? Oh THAT silly thing.”

Luckily, since there was no confidentiality statement in the email I received or in the included document, and since I am not agreeing to the new Reseller Agreement, I am not violating the clause that states

“You may not publicly release any information relating to this Agreement, including the existance of this Agreement…”

So I ask again: “Want to sell a computer, Dell?” Through me you apparently don’t.

Tell me Mr. Dell, how is your foot feeling? Did the police confiscate that gun?
