Internet TV repeating (bad) history

Internet TV is getting more attention these days as the number of broadband (high-speed) internet access is more prevelant in society.

This could be a good thing, however, there is a problem with it.

Internet TV should be accessible by anyone, as anyone should be able to access a given website. This is not the case however.

Some websites, for instance, restrict their viewers to using only a chosen web browser (the software that you use to ‘browse’ Internet websites). They have no idea that this is in effect limiting their visitors, as not everyone uses any particular web browser.

As a result, not everyone can view their site, which of course limits their income from that site. Now limiting income is a silly thing for any company to do.

Internet TV’s growing popularity could be hitting against the same brick wall as many sites are limiting their viewers by streaming (sending out) their Internet TV in a format only one type of viewer can display, hence those Internet TV sites are also limiting their potential viewers, and hence, their own income.

History repeats itself by those that refuse to learn from the past…
