What time zone is Windows in?
There are many ways set the time for your computer, and keep it set even when daylight savings time kicks in or out.
You could get third party software such as any of those on this list and many more to be sure.
However, since most of you are using Windows XP computers, why not just adjust where Windows XP already looks in order to set the computer time clock, no matter the time zone?
Find your clock on the bottom-right and double-click on it. You will see a tab titled “Internet Time”. Click on this tab.
The server by default is:
time.windows.com
(Microsoft anti-conspiracy theorists need not flame.)
You can change this to any time server you like - as long as you are allowed on the server that is.
For instance, one excellent choice is:
pool.ntp.org
Why? Because this is the address of a pool of network time servers. So if one is busy, it will automatically kick you over to one that is available.
But if you want control of what time server you use, try this list.
Pick a server, enter it into your computer, click on “Update Now” and Viola!
You are set! Enjoy your time zone!
