Security flaw in your Intel P4
If your organization is security conscious at all, then note that your multi-user, Hyperthreading CPU enabled servers are in major trouble due to leaks these CPUs have in the RSA data these servers contain.
RSA (stands for Ron Rivest, Adi Shamir and Leonard Adelman) is one of the most common methods of encrypting data today. Many algorithms use RSA as a basis for their encryption. PGP for example uses RSA to encrypt an IDEA key which is sent with the IDEA-encrypted message.
IDEA key = “(International Data Encryption Algorithm) A secret key cryptography method that uses a 128-bit key.”
Each user could get the other’s RSA key, blowing the organization’s security out the proverbial window.
You know crackers (hackers with evil intentions) are getting good when they are into the computer as deep as the CPU.
Thanks to DianeV for the tip!
