Vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer - again…
The Infotex Information Portal and Network World Fusionm among many others, are warning of _many_ attack possibilites if you are still using the swiss-cheese know as the Internet Explorer web browser.
To quote the Infotex Information Portal:
If you’re still using IE your users are sitting ducks. There are currently 19 unpatched holes in IE, the oldest of those being from March of 2003. There are 11 partial fix security problems the oldest of these is from 2002.
This is of course fodder for bashing Microsoft, however, that would be akin to beating a dead horse in this case. Microsoft has not changed their ways in past years with thousands of such bashings, and it is only wishfull thinking that makes people continue on such a course of false hope.
The only cure at this point is to USE ANOTHER BROWSER!!!
This is the same recommendation being made by US-CERT, UK-CERT, Wall Street Journal, Forbes magazine, USA Today, CBS News, eWeek magazine, etc., etc., etc….
Do your research! In fact, here are some quick search links for you:
Google search for - internet explorer “use another browser”
Alltheweb search for - internet explorer “use another browser”
Yahoo search for - internet explorer “use another browser”
MSN search for - internet explorer “use another browser”
Getting the idea?
For your sake, I hope so…
