On site computer repair status
On site computer repair in Los Angeles these days has turned into computer virus repair and spyware removal.
Most of our on site computer repair is actually computer virus repair and spyware removal. Why?
Anti-anti-virus programs (programs designed to get around or disable anti-virus programs) are running rampant. Also, as a rule, anti-virus programs don’t catch most trojans (programs that allow others to control your computer) or spyware (programs that report what you do back to their owners and slow down your computer).
So we end up doing a large amount of computer virus repair. (In this remark, I am also including computer trojan repair, computer adware removal and computer spyware removal.)
Most of this work entails removing 3-14 trojans and 300-2000 adware and spyware items from the computer in question, even with updated anti-virus programs.
As a result, on site computer repair these days is more like getting your car’s oil changed. It’s necessary, or you _will_ kill the engine.
With all due respect, maybe I should change our name to “Jiffy on site computer repair?”
:-)
